ELEMENTARY FACULTY

Cindy Brown

Mrs. Cindy Brown was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She graduated from Mississippi College as an art major with a BS degree in Education. This is her 28th year to teach art. Mrs. Brown is a commissioned artist in drawing, painting, ceramics, and calligraphy.

Dr. Lynn Miller
Dr. Lynn Miller is a native Mississippian and a graduate of MRA. She holds the B.F.A. from Mississippi University for Women and the M.A. in art history from the University of Georgia. Her doctoral degree is from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in conjunction with the University of Aberdeen (Scotland), where her doctoral project focused on the relationship between theology and church architecture. Her studio work, including painting, stained glass and textile work, is in private collections and churches throughout the South.

Catherine Wood
Mrs. Wood graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a B.F.A. in sculpture and holds a Master of Art Education from the University of South Alabama. She is a commissioned artist focusing on pen and ink, oil painting, and clay sculpture. A native of Jackson, she is returning after spending most of twenty years in Mobile, Alabama She has two boys who attend MRA.

Lisa Taylor Agent
After graduating from MRA, Mrs. Agent earned a B.F.A. in Fine Art from Mississippi State University. Her art emphasis was in Graphic Design and Photography. She then went on to work as marketing/art director for two pharmaceutical companies in Birmingham, AL and St. Louis, MO. She continued her graphics career back in Mississippi as art director for Hederman Brothers Printing and then for several years as a freelance designer. As well as teaching Graphic and Web Design at MRA she is the school’s graphic designer and helps with publicity throughout the school. She has two boys who attend MRA.

Frances Robinson Dykes
Frances is from Madison and graduated from Madison-Ridgeland Academy in 2001. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Mississippi State University. Her Communication emphasis was in Public Relations and Communication Studies. After college, she worked as a mortgage processor and public relations advisor for a mortgage company. She later came back to MRA to teach Creative Writing, Speech Communication, Journalism/Newspaper Staff, and Yearbook Staff. Also, she is the Features Pageant director and she helps with the publicity for the school. She and her husband live in Madison.
