All ads in the Spirit Book will be in color this year.  We feel that this will enhance the Spirti Book greatly, and hopefully make it a more useful tool throughout the school year as you look through it to find our advertisers with whom you will be able to do business!!!

Summer and Fall Booster Club Dates

The Booster Club has several dates that are important coming up in the summer and fall.  Each is listed below with a quick explanatation.  For more information on these events, or to volunteer your time, please contact Hugh Gillon by email at hugh@uwbbr.com.

Friday, July 10 - Booster Club Party

The first annual MRA Booster Club Barbeque will be held on July 10, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Stephanie and Bill Billingsley (569 N. Old Canton Road, Madison, MS).  All patrons who want to join the booster club for the 2009-10 year are invited to attend.  Coach Duease, Coach Norwood, and the rest of the coaching staff will be present to give everyone updates on summer progress and this season's expectations.

This will be a social event for adults only.  There will be no auction or raffle, but we do ask that as you enter the party you purchase your 2009-10 season tickets, reserve your football seats, and pay an additional $20 per person to cover the food and beverages.  For those that are interested, we will also be offering the NEW Super Patriot Donation Level.  This will include the following:

a.  Two Seaseon passes

b.  Two reserved football seats

c.  Two parking passes (one will be for Super Patriot designated reserved parking which will be closer to the football field than our standard reserved parking)

e.  One full page personal ad in the Spirit Book, or $300 credit toward a Spirit Book business ad for that booster

f.  Two entries that can be used for the MRA golf tournament or clay shoot

g.  Entry for two to the Booster Club Barbeque

h.  Special recognition in the Spirit Book

Saturday, August 8 - Campus Work Day

Dads and sons are encouraged to show up on this Saturday morning with their lawn tools.  Weedeating, pinestraw, and lots of other activities will be in line to make the campus look great for the returning students.

Thursday, August 13 - Meet the Patriots

Fall and Winter sports teams will be introduced, and patrons will have the opportunity to see all of the year's new apparel and accessories.  Season tickets will also be on sale for those who have not purchased theirs earlier in the summer.

Saturday, August 29 - Sporting Clay Shoot

Hunters and gun enthusiasts are encouraged to hone their skills in time for dove season with a sporting clay shoot at Kearney Park.  The shoot will be in the morning, with lunch following.  A registration form will be available at this site soon.

Friday, October 2 - MRA Homecoming Golf Tournament

For the 12th year, MRA will celebrate homecoming with a morning golf tournament.  The tournament will be a 6 man scramble that tees off at Colonial's Deerfield course at 8 a.m.  Supporters are encouraged to sign up as teams, but individuals will certainly be welcomed and placed on teams as they sign up.  A registration form will be available at this site soon.
