Dear Patrons and Friends,
Four years ago, MRA launched its most significant building program in school history-The Imagine Capital Campaign. Phase I was completed in 2002 with the building of our new Science and Math Complex and secondary school renovations. In 2004, we announced Phase II of our building program- an expansion and renovation of our elementary buildings. Our existing elementary building is our oldest structure and needs to be completely renovated. In addition to the renovation, new classrooms must be built to accommodate our growth. Technology upgrades for kindergarten through 12th grade will also be included. This past year it become evident that we must replace the log cabin with upgraded and additional facilities at the kindergarten. This will be added to Phase II of our Capital Campaign. We will have all of this completed by the start of the 2007 school year.
We would like to thank all of you who have contributed to Phase I and Phase II of our capital campaigns. We are now beginning the third year of the fund raising part of Phase II of our campaign. The preliminary estimates of costs for this project well exceed one million dollars. So far, we have raised over $300,000 from approximately 36% of our current patron families. Our goal is to have 100% participation. We have set up several levels of giving from which you may choose. Currently, we have 100% participation from our faculty. I am sure that you have noticed the growth in our community and the need for additional schools in the area. MRA is also continuing to grow more than any independent school. The only difference is that the funding must come from the patrons and friends rather than our tax dollars. We have kept our tuition prices among the most affordable in the metro area. It is our goal to maintain this. Moderate tuition increases have been used to raise our teacher salaries. All contributions to the school are tax deductible. Tuition increases are not.
Our young people deserve the best we can provide and they will all benefit from these upgrades. Please join those that have already made a commitment to the capital campaign and fill out a pledge card attached below and return it to our business office. We are accepting pledges as well as donations. Imagine what we can do, if we all contribute to the future of our school.
